Getting Started

General Questions

Learn how Pantry Pic works and what you can do with it

Pantry Pic is a photo-to-recipe app that identifies ingredients from photos of your fridge or pantry, then suggests personalised recipes based on what you already have. It helps reduce food waste and makes meal planning effortless.

Simply take a photo of your fridge, pantry, or ingredients. Pantry Pic instantly recognises the items and suggests recipes that match your dietary preferences. You can edit the detected ingredients, save favourites, create meal plans, and build smart shopping lists.

Pantry Pic is available on both iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android devices. Download it free from the App Store or Google Play. Your account syncs across all your devices automatically.

Yes! Pantry Pic offers a free tier with 4 ingredient scans and recipe generations per month. This includes full access to meal planning, shopping lists, and step-by-step cooking mode. Upgrade to Pantry Pro for unlimited scans and recipes.

Absolutely. You can set dietary preferences including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto, paleo, and more. You can also specify allergies and intolerances. All recipe suggestions will respect your preferences.

You need an internet connection to scan ingredients and generate new recipes. However, saved recipes, your ingredient list, meal plans, and shopping lists are available offline once loaded.

Subscriptions & Billing

In-App Purchases & Billing

Everything you need to know about Pantry Pro subscriptions and payments

Pantry Pro includes unlimited ingredient scans and recipe generations, priority access to new features, advanced meal planning tools, and enhanced recipe recommendations. It's perfect for households that cook frequently.

You can cancel anytime through your device's app store settings. On iOS, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions > Pantry Pic > Cancel. On Android, go to Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Pantry Pic > Cancel. You'll retain access until your current billing period ends.

Refunds are processed through Apple or Google, not directly through Pantry Pic. For iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support. For Android, go to Google Play > Order history > Request refund. Apple and Google have their own refund policies and timeframes.

Sign in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to make the original purchase, then go to Settings > Subscription in the app and tap 'Restore Purchases'. Your Pantry Pro subscription will be restored automatically.

Yes! New users can start a free trial of Pantry Pro. The trial length varies by offer and region. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime before the trial expires to avoid charges.

Pantry Pro is tied to your Apple ID or Google account. Family Sharing (iOS) or Google Play Family Library may allow sharing depending on your region and plan. Each family member should sign in with their own account to access shared subscriptions.

Payments are processed securely through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can use any payment method linked to your app store account, including credit cards, debit cards, PayPal (where available), and app store gift cards.

Pantry Pro is available as a weekly, monthly, yearly, or lifetime subscription. Pricing varies by region and currency. You can view current pricing in the app under Settings > Subscription. Annual plans offer the best value with significant savings.

Account & Privacy

Account Management

Manage your account, password, and privacy settings

You can try basic features without an account, but creating a free account unlocks saving recipes, meal planning, shopping lists, and syncing across devices. Sign up with email or continue with Apple/Google for quick registration.

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account in the app. This will permanently delete your account and all associated data including saved recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first through your app store to avoid future charges.

On the sign-in screen, tap 'Forgot Password' and enter your email address. You'll receive a verification code to reset your password. If you signed up with Apple or Google, use those services to manage your credentials.

We take privacy seriously. Your ingredient photos are processed securely and not shared with third parties. We don't sell your data. You can review our full Privacy Policy at pantrypic.com/privacy-policy for details on data collection, storage, and your rights.

Troubleshooting

Solutions to common issues and how to get support

For best results, ensure good lighting and a clear photo of your ingredients. Avoid blurry images or photos with items hidden behind others. Detection works best when items are visible and not overlapping. You can always manually add or edit detected ingredients.

Recipe suggestions depend on the ingredients detected. If few ingredients are found, try adding more manually or scanning additional items. Check that your dietary preferences aren't too restrictive. Ensure you have an active internet connection for recipe generation.

You can reach our support team by going to Settings > Support in the app. Include screenshots if possible and describe the issue in detail. We typically respond within 24-48 hours.
