Whirlpool shut Yummly down in December 2024, which left a lot of people with saved recipes and no app. This page is an honest look at what to move to, including where Pantry Pic is the wrong answer.

You mostly used Yummly to answer "what can I make with this", and you want that back without rebuilding a recipe box.
You want the app to start from what is in the fridge rather than from a search box.
You want the missing items collected into a shopping list without adding them one at a time.
Nothing here replaces the Yummly Smart Thermometer or its connected-appliance features. If that is what you used, look for a hardware-first replacement instead.
If you relied on a large library of publisher recipes with ratings and reviews, a database app such as SuperCook or a mainstream recipe site is a closer match than Pantry Pic.
If you had a big saved collection, export it wherever you can before choosing. Pantry Pic will not import a Yummly backup.
Why did Yummly shut down?
Whirlpool discontinued the Yummly app in December 2024. The apps and the connected features were retired.
What is the closest Yummly alternative?
It depends which half of Yummly you used. For ingredient-led cooking, Pantry Pic starts from a photo of what you have. For a large searchable library of publisher recipes, a database app such as SuperCook is closer.
Can I import my Yummly recipes?
No. Pantry Pic cannot import a Yummly collection, and we would rather say so than have you find out after installing.
Is there a free Yummly alternative?
Pantry Pic has a free tier on iOS and Android, plus a paid plan for unlimited scans. SuperCook is completely free.
Yummly did two jobs: it was a recipe library and it was a kitchen-hardware companion. No single app has replaced both. Pick based on which half you actually used.
